Plum District, founded by Deborah and Steve Goodman[1], is a group buying website that focuses on mothers and their buying power. The company is headquartered in San Francisco and offers national deals in North America and local deals in markets including San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Seattle.
In March 2011, the company was selected by Facebook as one of nine partners in its daily deal business.[2]
In July 2011, Soleil Moon Frye joined Plum District's Board[3]. Moon Fyre, best known from her childhood role as Punky Brewster, has over 1.4 million followers on twitter, and 100,000 Facebook fans. She joined Kleiner Perkins Partner Aileen Lee, entrepreneur Steve Goodman, and CEO Megan Gardner on the Board.
Raul Vazquez, ex CEO of Walmart.com, joined the Board of Directors in December, 2011.[4]. Vazquez was named number 14 on Money Magazine's 40 under 40 list for 2010. [5]

Plum District received $8.5M in funding from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and General Catalyst Partners,[6] two top U.S venture firms. Previous financing of $2.1M came from a collection of angel investors.[7]
In December, 2011, the company raised a combined $20 million from General Catalyst Partners, Kleiner Perkins, Comcast, and Duke University.[8]
Plum District introduces one new deal every day in each of the local markets it serves. The deal is mailed to local and national Plum District subscribers.
The company acquired merchant loyalty business Chatterfly and New York based daily deal business DoodleDeals, in December 2011. [9]
